(Taiwan) DOH moves ahead with e-medical record plan

The Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) approved Monday a plan that will allow about 80 percent of the country's hospitals to use an integrated system of electronic medical records for patients, starting in 2012. Under the plan proposed by the Department of Health (DOH), about 60 percent of the nation's hospitals will be able to share electronically stored medical records by that time, a DOH official said Tuesday.
