(Taiwan) Medical device firm SHL receives quality recognition award from Amgen

Staff at SHL, a manufacturer of drug delivery devices, gathered at the company's Taoyuan, Taiwan-headquarters Wednesday to receive an award recognizing operational excellence from Amgen, the world's largest biotechnology company and a long-time customer of SHL's auto injector products.

After receiving the award in person at Amgen's biannual Operations Supplier Forum held at Amgen's headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California on August 9th, Lucio Giambattista, Vice President, SHL Medical USA, traveled to Taiwan to present the award to the Taiwan team, acknowledging the contributions of all the staff involved in Amgen-related projects,
The Operational Excellence Award for Quality--presented to only one of Amgen's scores of suppliers worldwide--is given based on criteria such as a supplier's delivery performance, quality consistency and excellence, customer relations, and so on. Data on past performance, quality standards and audit results were also considered.
"We appreciate Amgen's recognition of the quality of our products and services. They're a great partner to work with, and we'll continue to work hard to provide innovative solutions and products of the highest quality to all of our customers," said Giambattista.

The world's largest privately-owned designer, developer and manufacturer of advanced drug delivery devices, SHL has been supplying Amgen with its patented disposable auto injector since 2004. The device is used by patients to self-inject precise doses of injectable medications safely and simply.
This internal award presentation ceremony also served as a special milestone for SHL's 20th Anniversary Celebration, which is taking place from October 19th-23rd.
