Taiwan's Favorgen Biotech Corporation has been appointed the exclusive sales, marketing and distribution partner for Taiwan for Fluorotechnics Pty Limited, an Australian company that produces fluorescent labels and stains for use in research, biotechnology and diagnostics.

Fluorotechnics is located in Sydney, Australia and has sales offices in North America and Europe.

Fluorotechnics products that will be available through Favorgen include LavaPurple, its total protein kit; LavaPep, its peptide quantification kit; LavaDigest, its protease monitoring kit; LavaCell, its live cell imaging stain kit; and LavaBlue, its protein stain kit.

Fluorotechnics products are environmentally-friendly products that are replacing hazardous assays that can be harmful to the environment, according to a press release by the company.

Dr. Lane Chen, president and CEO of Favorgen, in a press statement said, "Fluorotechnics products demonstrate versatility in protein science and cell culture applications. We believe that with Fluorotechnics strong research and development capability, selling of Fluorotechnics products in Taiwan will be successful due to strong technical and promotional supports."

Favorgen Biotech Corporation, founded in 2004 based in the newly developed Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park (PABP) in southern Taiwan. The company is a manufacturer and seller of molecular biology reagents, nucleic acid extraction kits, protein science reagents, lab use plastic consumables and life science use apparatus and instruments.

Favorgen's core competence is molecular biology, high density fermentation, and automatic protein purification process.
