The DCB carries out its functions in two complementary ways. First, it vertically links the academic sector and the industrial sector through the promotion of applied scientific technology. Its pilot plants develop technologies derived from academic research and subsequently transfer them to private industry. Second, the DCB horizontally introduces and adapts suitable biotechnologies from around the world, and transfers them to domestic industries. | | 一般記錄 | The mission of the DCB is to establish a biotechnology R&D capability that is internationally competitive and to upgrade the domestic biotechnology industry. It functions as a development unit using the results obtained from basic research and then developing them into products for industries to meet the practical needs and the technology development objectives of the nation. The DCB also offers consulting services on market and industrial information research for domestic and overseas enterprises, academic institutes, and the government.
