Alliances signed between Taiwan and Japan, elderly health care the focus

The increasing elderly population in both Taiwan and Japan has driven growing demand for medical devices. In order to understand market trends, regulatory issues and other business development related information in both countries, an alliance was formed in December been formed between Taiwan and Japan medical devices associations initialed by Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) business information and intelligence division, the Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center (IEK). Furthermore in February 2017, IEK signed an MOU with the Japan Research Institute, Limited (JRI) to facilitate healthcare product development for seniors.
